Cowslips

A small clump of Cowslips, Primula veris, growing in my garden.

These relatives of my favourite flowers, primroses, are native flowers in Scotland, but are less readily seen in the wild nowadays because of the loss of their natural habitat.

I planted them in my garden as they flower in Springtime and are beneficial to pollinators. That said, I saw more this spring while out walking than I’ve ever seen before, so presumably land managers have come to understand their benefits.
