An African Elephant with a ‘tide line’ splashing through a lagoon in the Okavango Delta, Botswana, southern Africa. This young bull elephant is ‘mock-charging’ with his ears spread wide to make him look even larger and more fearful. This is a ‘warning’ posture. If an African Elephant is going to charge seriously, it presses its ears flat to its head. So I’ve been told anyway, but it’s generally best to be careful!
