A Blue Tit, Cyanistes caeruleus (fka Parus caeruleus) on a hawthorn branch with haw berries, raises one wing above its head prior to take-off.
Although common in gardens, woodlands and parks throughout Scotland, Blue Tits are very colourful and endearing little birds which are very active and fun to photograph. They often take up really ‘cute’ poses. I have to confess that this image was purely fortuitous – I didn’t even realise I had it until I had the morning’s shoot on my computer for review.
