This iceberg was ‘stuck’ in a cove in Trinity Bay, Newfoundland, Canada.
It was a surprise addition to a boat trip to Bird Island to see the nesting seabirds.
I first saw it on the trip a week before taking this photo. It was really interesting to sail right round it and see how much it had melted and changed shape in the intervening week. I felt really lucky to have seen it, as I’d spent time on a few days watching what were probably large white ships on the horizon on ‘iceberg alley’, trying to convince myself they were actually icebergs.
