Indian Scops Owl

A very well-camouflaged Indian Scops Owl, Otus bakkamoena, in a tree in Pench National Park, India.

This bird was very well known to the guides, who were delighted to be able to present visitors with such a super view so near to the tracks of the reserve.

Indian Scops Owls have a wide distribution over most of India and Pakistan and southern Nepal.
