La Défense covers an area of 560 hectares and is Europe’s largest purpose-built business district. It has 72 glass and steel buildings supporting 180,000 daily workers, and 3,500,000m2 of office space.
The area also supports a large shopping mall, Les Quatre Temps which has 220 shops, 48 restaurants and a 24-screen cinema.
