African Fish Eagles feed mainly on fish, but also carrion, and sometimes, e.g. in Lake Nakuru, prey on Flamingoes or other waterbirds (16k*)
Bird Island, Lake Victoria (22k*) Just before sunset, it seems as though every bird in Africa must be headed to Bird Island, Lake Victoria, to roost - at least, every Cormorant!
This is a fairly recent phenomenon, and it is thought that the guano will kill the vegetation on the island within the next ten years.
