Miscellaneous Images from Namibia

"things which didn't really fit in anywhere else".

chameleon Kavezembi spotted this chameleon crossing the road.
Bones A skeleton at Welwitschia drive
Koppie One of the roads we drove through had lots of spectacular koppies, and this is one of them.
'Organ Pipes' The 'Organ Pipes', a dolerite structure.
It was already late afternoon when we got here, hence the shadow at the bottom of the gorge.
Petrifed Tree A tree from the Congo in the 'Petrified forest' near Twyfelfontein
Sesreim Gorge Sesreim Gorge, so called because it was six thongs deep (they had to be knotted together to get water to the top - only in the rainy season, though: there was none in July.)
Snake in Sesreim Gorge I first saw this snake out of the corner of my eye slithering along the crack in some baked mud, and thought it was (improbably) a trickle of water. Thanks to David Saffrey for emailing and suggesting it's probably a juvenile Zebra Snake.
