Smooth-billed Ani

Crotophaga ani
An introduced species. We saw a few as we drove up to the Santa Cruz highlands; this one was photographed in Puerto Ayora, just next to the Waved Albatross statue.

Hood Mockingbird

Nesomimus macdonaldi
This chick was very noisily food-begging: to an apparently uninterested parent!
Presumably the other parent was away catching food.

Fregatta magnificens
Female with small chick in the nest.
Magnificent Frigatebird: Immature

Magnificent Frigatebirdimmature
In mid-July, the Magnificent Frigatebirds on Seymour Norte
are going through all stages of their courtship. Some males are still displaying to find partners, some have small chicks, and some of the chicks are well grown.
